PROJECT INITIATOR’S PROFILE
St. Joseph Technical Institute Kisubi is the oldest Technical Institute in Uganda. It was started in 1911 by the White Missionary Fathers. St. Joseph’s is a reputable institute, the oldest technical institution in Uganda, with good infrastructure, enough qualified instructors / lecturers and a big number of students from all over the country
Mission
To develop the human capacity through Technical skills and promotion of moral and spiritual values for the benefit of those trained their families and the country at large.
Vision
To modernise and promote the training program to suit the changing demands of the country and societal needs.
Our objectives
· To provide relevant knowledge values and skills for purposes of academic progression and employment in the labour market.
· To enhance the productivity capabilities of the individual for self employment.
· To train people who can benefit in the skills and knowledge acquired together with their families, the community and the entire country at large.
· To train people who can develop the economy of the country
· To train competent craftsmen / women to meet the demands of labour market in their community.
Programs offered at St. Joseph’s Technical Institute Kisubi;
· The institute offers Certificate and Diploma on full Time and Evening programs.
· Certificate programs are two years for craft part one and one year for part two on term system starting from February to December for one academic year.
· All diploma programs are two years on semester system starting from August to June of the following year for one academic year.

· Bricklaying and Concreting practice
· Carpentry & Joinery,
· Plumbing in East Africa,
· Electrical Installation,
· Motor Vehicle Mechanics,
· Welding,
· Tailoring & Knitting
· Computer studies
Courses offered at Diploma level;
· Ordinary Diplomas in Civil Engineering,
· Electrical Engineering,
· Water Engineering
· Mechanical Engineering and
· Architectural draughtsman ship
Conclusion
St. Joseph’s Technical Institute Kisubi would like to participate in a South – South Fredskorpset Teacher exchange to promote lasting improvements in the economic, social and political conditions in developing countries. This collaboration and partnerships shall promote the transfer of expertise, find means to reducing poverty, and create involvement and awareness to developmental issues in African countries.
