NORWEGIAN PARTNERSHIP

Since August 2005, the Institute together with other two schools in Uganda namely; Kings College Buddo and Mengo Senior School came into partnership with three Norwegian schools of Telmark Country. These are

  • Lunder Upper Secondary School
  • Rjukan Upper Secondary School
  • Nottaden Upper Secondary School

 The fruits of the partnership have been realized in the following ways;

The program of exchange of teachers that began with the Norwegian in the names of Mr. and Mrs. Cowles Anlanga in 2005/2006 has been maintained till today in the names of

  • August   2005 – May 2006              Anlanga and Morten Cowles
  • October 2006 – July 2007            Geir Versto and Lok Aasmund
  • October 2007 – July 2008            Kjell Arve Saksen Torsvik and Merethe Solberg Aasen
  • October 2008 – July 2009            Anja Slensrod Thorrstensen and Henrik Andresen
  • October 2009 – July 2010            Linn Obrestad and Tormod Fanuelsen
  • October 2010 – July 2011            Trond and  Rand Mosoing

Who have good job in Uganda teaching in the three schools named schools What a wonderful exchange! in the same exchange visit also some staff of St. Joseph's Technical Institute have also benefited namely:

 St. Joseph’s Technical Staff has been trained in skills and knowledge about the use of modern technology more especially the use of computers.

 The computer laboratory was equiped with 11 new Desktop computers, 25 used laptops, 3 digital cameras and 1 printer.

 The department of games and sports has been facilitated with equipments including balls, sportswear and also training sessions.

 Students of the Norwegian Schools have generously contribution to the construction of the girls’ dormitory.

 Much more fruits are to be realized as the partnership is cemented and strengthened with the cordial relationship and sharing of skills, knowledge and talents.

Mr. Kees Ebskamp of Netherlands the coordinator of Tusaidiane Foundation Uganda has been very instrumental in proving a water system purifier to the Institute. The Institute enjoys the opportunity of having a water purification equipment. We are grateful to you Mr. kees Ebskamp!

Sports

Appreciation is extended to the Norwegians through Mr. And Mrs. Cowles for the continued donations in the field of sports which have greatly boosted the standard of sports in the Institute, by arousing interest, participation and performance. The Institute is proud of the new Jerseys boot and balls given to the footballers, Netball attire and balls given to the girls and the Handball Kit donated to the Handballers.

 Mrs. Cowles is highly commended for the modern skills imparted to the boys and girls in various disciplines which have enhanced their stamina
